Minneapolis Star-Tribune runs article about our hiking guidebooks, adventures

My son Kieran and I. Photo courtesy of Star-Tribune.
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune ran an article this morning in its Outdoors section about my hiking guidebooks and the best day hikes to take children on in northwest Minnesota. There’s also two cool pictures of my son Kieran and me hiking the Fairy Falls Trail near Stillwater, Minn. The article, “Hot on the trail: Regional trail guidebook author collects his favorite hikes” and its sidebar, “Trail guide author recommends five great hikes,” starts on page O1 or can be read online. A special thanks to the Star-Tribune for the great article and coverage!

Hiking guide makes readers’ summer picks

Readers of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune listed my latest book, Headin’ to the Cabin: Day Hiking Trails of Northeast Minnesota, as a “summer book suggestion” in an article appearing in today’s Sunday paper on page E9.

Wrote Strib reader Greg Peyton, of River Falls, Wis.: “The book mostly will sit on my nightstand so I can review it for trail ideas; when not there, it’ll be in my backpack so it accompanies me on the hike.”

You can follow Mr. Peyton’s great advice by ordering a copy of the book online or picking one up at: Chapter2Books in Hudson, Wis.; Valley Bookseller in Stillwater, Minn.; Common Good Books in St. Paul, Minn.; Content Bookstore in Northfield, Minn.; or Piragis Northwoods Company in Ely, Minn.

The Strib article is online.

Minneapolis newspaper features ‘Hittin’ the Trail” title

Today’s Minneapolis Star-Tribune mentions my latest book, Hittin’ the Trail: Day Hiking the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, in its “Bedside Table” feature. Written by readers, the feature tells what titles Twin Cities book lovers are enjoying and why. If you’re a Strib subscriber, the article can be found on page E12; if not, it’s available online.
