Fortunately, there are lots of tried and true activities you can do on the trail that’ll keep kids from getting bored. Among them is Boot Twister.
During a rest break, find an area of short grass or that is sandy. Clear it of stones, twigs and debris. Next, have each child take off a boot. The children then place the boots next to one another. Have the children sit in a circle, with the taken off boots in the center, and hold the hand of one child next to them.
The children one by one then take any boot but their own from the circle’s center. They now must put that boot on the right child’s foot without letting go of the hand they’re holding onto.
