Fun game for hike: Which One is Missing?

If one of these objects - a pine cone, a white rock, a dandelion, or a black
stone - were removed, could you tell which one was then missing?
Generally, exploring and discovery is enough for kids, but sometimes even they can grow bored with that and become restless. Remember that they naturally have shorter attention spans than adults.

Fortunately, there are lots of tried and true activities you can do on the trail that’ll keep kids from getting bored. Among them is Which One is Missing?

During a rest break, line up three objects from your surroundings – perhaps a pine cone, a small branch and a leaf. Have your child close his eyes as you remove one of the objects. The child then has to guess which object you removed. The older the child, the more objects you can line up or trying taking away two of the objects.

Materials: Found objects in nature

Ages: Three and up
