Don't forget prescriptions on hikes with kids

When hiking with kids, always bring on a hike any medicine regularly taken by children. Make sure they take the proper amounts when scheduled. You may need to bring a spoon or small medicine cup, if the medication is a liquid.

Even if the medication isn’t to be taken during the hike, should you be forced to stay a night in the wilds your children then will not go without.

Read more about how to safely day hike with children in the guidebook Hikes with Tykes.
